Ray Tracing (Ray Tracing, iTrace)
Ray tracing is a highly advanced technology that measures the ability of an optical system to focus the light rays passing through it. In ocular analysis, it measures how well the optics of the cornea and other internal structures of the eye focus. The information in the report is very useful in determining which part of the entire optical system of the eye is most affected in order to decide which should be corrected. It also informs us about any optical aberration that needs special wavefront-guided treatment. Another advantage of this study is that it allows us to know, with a high degree of certainty, whether or not the eye is a good candidate for a multifocal intraocular lens to correct presbyopia along with the other refractive errors of the eye. It helps us to calculate with greater precision the intraocular lens to be placed in cataract surgery in patients with previous refractive laser surgery.
