She obtained her medical degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and later trained in ophthalmology at the Hospital Elías Santana (HES). At the same hospital she subspecialized in corneal and refractive surgeries. She is an instructor of cornea and refractive residents and fellows at HES. During the first development projects of implantable collamer lenses (ICL), she was in charge of organizing the operations with the first patients who were implanted in the country. She is an officer of the Banco de Corneas de la República Dominicana and serves as one of the main corneal transplant surgeons of the medical group. At CCCRP her areas of expertise are: advanced cataract surgery, phaco-refractive surgery, ReLEx SMILE, SBK, ASA, ICL and corneal rings.
